At present, with the widespread application of LED-UV light source in the market, the curing quality and speed of UV ink have been greatly improved, but the curing characteristics of UV ink is still the operator, quality inspection personnel should pay attention to the problem. By observing the curing effect of printed samples at different time periods, will help us better understand the UV ink after curing characteristics.
UV ink curing time, the firm state of the ink layer, is related to the supplier’s ink formula, the printing time, the amount of photo initiator, ink layer thickness and label pattern layout (field or flat screen combination). Therefore, UV ink curing time is difficult to use an exact number to express, only according to the actual situation of the printing site, through the simple methods to determine.
The UV ink used for the print can achieve a complete curing effect after 24 hours of printing. In the actual production process, when many label printing enterprises use PE film materials for printing, quality inspection personnel will generally check immediately after printing and recheck 24h later again, to determine the firmness of UV ink.
In general, especially in the film printing, if the coating of the film material is qualified, or there is no coating, but the surface tension is greater than 40 dynes, the firmness of the graphic ink of the ordinary format is very good, there may be mild ink loss, but there will not be a large area of ink loss phenomenon. After curing, ink firmness will reach the best level, impossible to drop ink, quality is fully qualified.
Use qualified layers, and do combined with the production of inspection control, UV ink will play the most smooth use effect.
