There are two printing methods of heat transfer printing, one is thermal sublimation transfer, the other is hot pressure transfer
1) Thermal sublimation transfer
It is to use dye-based ink with sublimation conditions, through lithography, screen printing, gravure printing and other ways to print portrait, landscape, text and other images to the way of mirror inversion printing on the paper. Then the printed paper on the substrate, through heating (generally about 200℃) pressure to sublimate transfer paper ink directly from solid to gas, so as to transfer the text to the substrate.
2) Hot press transfer
Hot press transfer printing using screen printing (can also use gravure printing, etc.) will be printed on thermal transfer paper or plastic, and then through heating pressure will be transferred to the substrate. With the popularity of laser printers and inkjet printers, however, many small workshops with laser printer will make good with a computer graphic print directly on the transfer paper, or with inkjet printer by printing on normal printing paper, and then use electrostatic copy machine on the transfer paper, finally, to transfer paper on way of graphic pressurized by heat transfer printing on substrates.
The difference between the two approaches is:
Sublimation transfer printing is mainly applied in chemical fiber cloth and coated with thermal transfer coating of hard materials, and thermal solid transfer printing is mainly used in cotton products; The texture of the two ways are also different, thermal sublimation pattern transfer does not change the original texture of the material, feel and look good. The thermosetting pattern forms a layer of gelatinous material on the surface of the attachment after transfer, which has poor feel and is airtight. The two printing methods have their own advantages and disadvantages in production, and each has its own characteristics.
Choosing different heat transfer printing methods will also present different label or pattern effects on clothing.
